In other news... MMVS had a pretty exciting weekend!  Take a look at what some of your fellow MMVS-ers accomplished...

KICKING DAISIES is Radio Disney's NEXT BIG THING!  Congratulations Duran, Caitlin, Carly and Ben!   Way to represent MMVS.  We love you!

We found out the news backstage before their sold out show at FTC's Stage One on Friday.   I made a really fun video of that moment (and before/after that moment), but I'm not allowed to release it until Disney releases similar footage we sent to them that night.   Stay tuned!

Big shout out to MMVS favorite, RICHARD GRANGER, who's band, Take Zero, rocked the stage that night!  Also, big shout out to MMVS new comer, CHRIS CONWAY, who's band That's The Problem played a kicking opening set.  Way to go guys (dude awesome).

Whew... so then on Sunday MMVS Level 1 Winners, KATIE HODES and JORDAN KELLOGG took the stage at Stratford Theatre for the Red School's annual charity concert.  They brought the house down with their new hit "My Biggest Mistake" and Christina Perri's tune "Jar of Hearts." With beautiful harmonies and powerful vocals, these girls showed me they are learning how to connect with their audience through their performances.  Congratulations, NEVER4GET!

Please post answers to the following questions to comments:
1. Do you know what song you would like to perform (or have you narrowed it down)?
2. Do you want our advice on which song to choose?
3. Rumor has it that Mel will sing a few tunes at this show... any requests?
4. How do you plan to prepare?

  1. 1. I'm not sure at all... but I have promised a few people that I will sing. You heard it here first.
    2. YES.
    3. Ummm... that's weird for me to answer, LOL.
    4. It's been a while since I've prepared for a show or showcase. I'm going to take preparation and rehearsal verrrrrry seriously so that I can relax and connect when I'm performing. Experience has taught me much about Action so I feel okay there right now.

  4. Hello All. Mel, thank you very much for giving MMVS favorite, RICHARD GRANGER, and shout out for the show on friday. I really appriciate it. I really enjoy singing lessons and although they are fun and we occasionally goof off, (especially with your amazing piano skills) i have progressed greatly as a vocalist and a preformer/front man. It has also increase my confidance level as a whole. You have a few questions you wanted me to answer, i shall do so in an extensive essay form... lets start off with question 4.

    4. How do you plan to prepare?
That is an excellent question. It really caught me by surprise, its kind of like the first time you meet spiro in crash bandicute vs Spiro, exillerating. Surprise aside (did that rhyme?) I plan to prepare by drinking alot of tea. The way i make my tea is i wait an extra 45 seconds after the kettle has started to whistle until i turn it off. I put in a decent amount of honey, maybe a table spoon full (WOWZERS). After the honey is in the cup i then add the tea bag. Rooibos tea, also know to Americans as Red Bush Tea. Once the bag is in the cup i make a very dangerous and risky... same words?... desision, I pour in water. I do it so slowly that even sonic the hedgehog couldnt speed me up. Speaking of him, have you seen the TV Add where he eats an apple while it is getting shot by a bullet, that ADD is like 40 seconds, long there is no way it takes a bullet 40 seconds to move 3 feet, if that was the case the zulus would be ruling the world right now. REGARDLESS.... i drink tea. Then i will intensly walk up to my bedroom with my guinnise (sp) slippers on, i will go to my mini keybored, turn it on with great power and authority, and then pretend i can play, i will then play a standerd C scale (for those of you who do not know what a standered C scale is its CDEFGABC and then a batman symbol). I will sing along to that then listen to come of the very beuaitufl sounding warmups i have recorded in MMVS and attempt to sing them as well. I will then turn off the key bored after half an hours of warming up, lay on my bed, and take a nap. I hope that answered question numberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr FOUR!

I just want to know if you would rather me play a softer song, a heavier song, an egyptian song, or a song about bunnies by randy numan? any song will be preformed at a professional level by ZEE SMASH as richard granger will not be able to attend, ZEE SHASH is god of music. 6. DO U WANANA HEAR A SONG???

Boys and girls of every age
Wouldn't you like to see something strange?

Come with us and you will see
    This, our town of Halloween

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
Pumpkins scream in the dead of night

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene
Trick or treat till the neighbors gonna die of fright
    It's our town, everybody scream
    In this town of Halloween

I am the one hiding under your bed
Teeth ground sharp and eyes glowing red

I am the one hiding under your stairs
Fingers like snakes and spiders in my hair

This is Halloween, this is Halloween

    Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
In this town we call home
Everyone hail to the pumpkin song

In this town, don't we love it now?
Everybody's waiting for the next surprise

Round that corner, man hiding in the trash can
Something's waiting now to pounce, and how you'll...

    Scream! This is Halloween
    Red 'n' black, slimy green

    Aren't you scared?

    Well, that's just fine
Say it once, say it twice
Take a chance and roll the dice
Ride with the moon in the dead of night

    Everybody scream, everybody scream

    In our town of Halloween!

I am the clown with the tear-away face
Here in a flash and gone without a trace

I am the "who" when you call, "Who's there?"
I am the wind blowing through your hair

I am the shadow on the moon at night
Filling your dreams to the brim with fright

This is Halloween, this is Halloween
    Halloween! Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
    Halloween! Halloween!

that was all meant to be one post but it wouldnt fit.

  11. (Marisa; Dianne is my mom!)

    1. I think I'm singing "I Will Follow You Into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie. :)
    2. I've only worked on that song with Melissa so I'll most likely do that one!
    3. Hmmmm...i'll get back to you on that one!
    4. I'm going to work with Melissa on, like not the arrangement of the song, but when the guitar/singing should be louder, to enhance it; hard to put into words! Practice, and stage presence as well!

  12. Richard - I might be the only one who read your epic post(s) word for word! What can I say? You always go waaaaay beyond what is necessary - or makes sense. HAHAHA.

Luis - but we're preparing as if you ARE performing.... right???? :)

Shelby - what if you and Cori do one of Cori's songs? I could help you come up with harmonies for it.
