The Best of You

When you post your comments this week, please answer the following:
1. What song are you working on now for MMVS?
2. What song is stuck in your head right this very second?
3. Who is your favorite songwriter and why?

The MMVS Level 1 Contest has brought out the best of so many of you!   Congratulations to all for your hard work so far!   I want to recognize a few people in today's post:

Jordan: first to complete all five song projects.
Richard: most consistent (and entertaining) blog posts, most improved vocal technique this month.
Eric: first to complete all music theory requirements.

More congrats and student highlights to come...

  4. HEY LOOK THAT'S ME.
    hehe.
welll, for MMVS I'm working on biggest mistake with mel and katie and jar of hearts outside of classes...
right this second crashing by jack's mannequin is stuck in my head.
and I have several favorite song writers, one of them being my brother because of the ways that his lyrics apply to family and love and just really positive things that you want to keep in mind. and also ben gibbard, from death cab for cutie because I love that band so much and also because their lyrics aren't so literal, like they are on the radio these days, it's like you actually have to sit down and think about what the song is talking about. I like that.

  5. Alright so right now im working on elevator in my lessons by david archuleta, its a accoustic type sound which is amazing. The song that is stuck in my head right now is probably grenade by Bruno Mars, the song is amazing, and the way he uses all of his voice in it. My favorite songwriter is Kara Dioguardi because i think she is the best out their. She writes for everyone from the jonas brothers, cobra starship, leona lewis kelly clarkson and many more. All of her songs are different, dont sound the same and are all hits. And i think nowadays you cant just write a song because you want your fanbase to only appreciate but you have to go out of the box like she does when writing for so many different people.

  6. Hello all, My names Luis I am a new edition to MMVS and PROUD of it! lol I am a singer/song writer like most of you all are, and and I am with Melissa so that she can lead me to "Superstardom" =)
Hope to meet you guys/girls someday!
anywho on to the the 3 questions

1.I am working on "When it Rains" by Paramore

2.The song stuck in my head is
"If I ever fall in love" by Shai

3.Fav. song writer as of right now has to be Hayley Williams from Paramore, because all of her songs come from life experiences, they all have a deeper meaning to them, her songs are relevant and many fans can relate to her intricate lyrics. Most importantly I believe she's not a sell out, she makes music that shes proud of.

  7. 1- Right now i am working on at last & if i were a boy.
2- Got your back is stuck in my head.
3- My favorite song writer is Eminem because of the meaning of his song lyrics. He expresses his life through his music. He's not afraid to just put everything out there.

  16. Thus comes another post of richard granger.

Ok, this is probably the least jokey post ive ever posted...

I believe i have worked on Ave Maria enough to bring it to you and cash it in. I am really keeping my voice back and singing it with power. It has improved me as a singer already and ive only been working on it for 3 days. I will see you on wednesday Mel!

  17. Hey Melissa and everyone! I'm finally posting something on here. I guess it took me long enough.
    1. Right now I am working on Ave Maria for MMVS.
    2. November Rain by GNR is stuck in my head because I have been singing it so much.
    3. Fav songwriter? Way too tough to narrow down. Right now I might have to go with Nikki Sixx, the bassist for Motley Crue. A lot of people don't know that he writes the lyrics and most of the music for the band. I'm a huge 80's metal fan and their songs just sound larger than life and still kick ass!
